We’re excited to be exhibiting at the upcoming Space-Comm Expo in Glasgow on September 11-12 2024. We will be at stand B12. The exhibition is free to attend.
At Semafind, we focus on building novel solutions using the latest machine learning and data science techniques. For this exhibition, we are directing our attention to the space industry which generates vast amounts of data from satellites, telescopes, spacecraft, and more. We want to hear more about the challenges surrounding tasks like image analysis, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, mission optimization, and resource management.
There are many applications in the space industry that incorporate aspects of machine learning:
Satellite Imagery Analysis: Analysing satellite imagery for applications like earth observation, environmental monitoring, disaster management, and urban planning.
Spacecraft Health Monitoring: Designing predictive maintenance models to detect anomalies and potential failures in spacecraft systems, enabling proactive intervention and extending their operational lifespan.
Autonomous Space Exploration: Researching neuro-symbolic methods for autonomous navigation, decision-making, and data collection during robotic space missions.
Space Debris Mitigation: Applying data science techniques to track and analyse space debris patterns to mitigate collision risks and ensure the long-term sustainability of space activities.
We choose this expo because it shines a spotlight on space as one of Scotland’s most dynamic growth industries. Scotland is home to over 150 space companies and 80 aerospace companies and supports nearly one fifth of all UK space sector jobs and builds more small satellites than anywhere else in the world after California. The interest in Space-Comm Expo has been heightened by Scotland's plans for vertical launch before the end of 2024 year and ambitions to become Europe's leading space nation. Registration is free to attend, with over 100 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees including government, clusters, academia and commercial primes, SMEs and start-ups.
